The shape of the Natal network discovered by Zhi-yun Bo is a holographic reflex zone that resembles the ‘Bagua’, and that is why the network is called “Bagua Zangfu Organ System”. This holographic reflex zone represents the internal organs (Zangfu organs) of the human body and is located at the deep layers of the abdominal wall. A hologram can be defined as an image of an object in which the object appears three-dimensional (not flat), and in which we can look inside the object.

The shape/layout of the Bagua makes one think of the internal organs (Zangfu organs), as its network points echo our internal organs. If there is an imbalance or blockage in our internal organs, the corresponding abdominal reflex points as presented in the Bagua Chart are treated. Abdomen acupuncture aims to regulate the flow of Qi and blood of the internal organs through the needling of only the abdomen points.
‘Bagua’ means “eight symbols”. The Bagua 8 trigrams symbolise the energetic transformative state of Qi. The trigrams have three lines, broken/yin, or unbroken/yang, which give details of the various stadia of change in the energetic state of Qi (the cycle of yin and yang energy). This cycle is present in all things, in all kinds of cycles; hourly, daily, seasonal, menstrual, and more.
Refex zone
In the book “Contemporary Medical Acupuncture” (2007) written by JIn, Guan-Yuan, and Jin, Jia-Jia X., and Jin, Louis L., it is stated in Chapter 3(?) that acupuncture points are either outputting areas (reflex points) of internal information onto the body surface, or inputting areas of therapeutic acupuncture information into the body. Acupuncture points can be considered to be reflex points of somatic, visceral, and central reflex zones of the human body. Therefore, acupuncture could be titled: Acu-reflexology.
